Rules & how scoring works

Rules & scoring

The rules of Fantasy LoL: how pros are scored, how the weekly lock works and how the Worlds playoff is decided. New here? Start with how it works.

How does scoring work?

Every drafted player earns fantasy points from their own real match stat line, the same numbers official broadcasts put on screen between fights:

A player's score for a week is the average of their games that week, so a pro who plays a best-of-five isn't scored five times over a pro who plays one game, and teams that play more matches aren't over-rewarded. A player whose team has no games that week scores 0.

Ladder rules: locks and weekly scores

Your five is a standing pick you can edit any time before a week locks. A week locks when its games begin, and a save after the lock counts from the next week. The Ladder shows the exact lock time, always before the week's first game (a regional week locks at 00:00 UTC when its seven-day window opens, which can be a day or two before the first match), so nobody can pick players after seeing how they did. A pro's score for the week is the average of their games, and a pro whose team has no games that week scores 0, so it's worth re-checking your five at each lock. Worlds is the exception: it plays on consecutive days, so each match day is its own board and locks at its first game, and the same goes for Worlds leagues. Once a match day's games start, free agency and trades are locked until the day ends, and the day is scored when Oracle's Elixir publishes its data, usually the next day.

The Ladder covers every stretch of pro games, regional seasons and international events alike. It appears on its own while games are being played and tucks itself away between them, so the app isn't cluttered when nothing is being scored. When more than one is on at once, such as Worlds and a region, you pick which to play. Worlds 2026 closes a few days after the Grand Final on November 14. If a new split starts, re-check your five and save it again: a roster from an earlier split isn't scored.

What is the Worlds knockout playoff?

New Worlds leagues with four or more managers end in a playoff, like a real fantasy league. A league started before the playoff was added is decided on total points. After the Swiss Stage, the top 4 managers by total points are seeded. The four quarterfinal days decide two head-to-head semifinals, 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3, and the two semifinal days plus the Grand Final decide the title between the winners. Whoever's roster scores more over the round advances, and a tie goes to the higher seed. The Final's winner is the league champion, even if someone else led the points all event. Leagues with fewer than four managers skip the playoff, and the highest total wins.

The commissioner chooses, when setting up the league, whether to lock lineups during the knockouts (on by default). With the lock on, teams are locked in the knockouts: roster moves freeze from the first quarterfinal until the quarterfinals end, then again from the first semifinal until the Final ends, so nobody can pick players after seeing how they did. Worlds is scored daily through the Swiss Stage, so until the knockouts start you can change your five after every match day. Between the two rounds, moves are open so you can set your lineup for the semifinals and Final.
